The Second Educultural Forum Held at the College of Education – University of Zakho

Under the patronage of the President of the University of Zakho, Prof. Dr. Diyar Abdulkareem Saeed, and the supervision of the Dean of the College of Education, Prof. Dr. Sattar Jabbar Haji, the Second Educultural Forum was held at the College of Education, University of Zakho, on Monday, April 14, 2025, under the theme: "Towards Innovative Education and an Advanced Society". The forum was attended by a number of directors and representatives of governmental and civil society organizations.
The event commenced with a welcoming speech by the Dean of the College of Education, in which he expressed his appreciation for the attendees and highlighted the significance of the forum in strengthening the connection between higher education institutions and society, while shedding light on pressing educational and cultural issues.
The forum addressed three main topics: The first session focused on sports culture as a foundation for building a healthy athletic society. Speakers discussed the importance of physical education and sports activities in developing individuals and communities, as well as promoting physical and mental health. The second session revolved around the role of the family in supporting and caring for children with autism spectrum disorder. This session was attended by parents, trainers, and specialists, and included discussions on effective psychological and educational support strategies for these children. The third session was dedicated to the role of educational institutions in developing entrepreneurial individuals and creating job opportunities. The speaker addressed the need to enhance students’ entrepreneurial skills and innovation, and the role of universities in preparing them for the labor market.
The sessions were led by experts and academics, with attendees encouraged to ask questions and engage in discussions at the end.
